Welcome to Weathering Adversity!

Hello there! I’m Sophia Sagrestano, a meteorologist who currently resides in Massachusetts. I received my B.S. in Meteorology with a Mathematics minor from Valparaiso University in Spring 2021. During the summer of 2023, I successfully defended my master's thesis and received my M.S. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified (currently classified as Autism Spectrum Disorder in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition) and Anxiety in the Spring of 2006. Outside of work, I love to read books, watch Disney movies, take walks, play video games on my Nintendo Switch, and sing.

My goal with this blog is to describe my personal experiences in the hopes that what I have gone through can show you a different perspective, and perhaps be a guide to get you where you're trying to go. I hope that, by describing my trials and tribulations, I can show you that it is possible to get where you want to go no matter your circumstances and to give you advice for getting you there when I have some to give.
